Tradition Festival > Event Schedule 2010
 You could enjoy different activities which show "gaucho" customs in San Antonio de Areco. The Tradition Day, November 10th, is celebrated like nowhere place. Every year, around that date, the town organizes Tradition Festival: horse-riding and games, criollas skills, exhibition, dances and traditional parade of horse-riding "gauchos".

6 p.m. Celebrate a mass in the chapel at “Parque Criollo”.
8:15 p.m. At Honorable Concejo Deliberante, 300 Mitre St.: Opening of photographic exhibition: “200 shines between lights and shadows…” by María Rosa D’Elia Demetilla
Sunday 31st, October
4 p.m. At "Guida O'Donnell" Patio: Traditional dances organized by “Peña Don Segundo Sombra”
8:15 p.m. At Usina Vieja Cultural Center, 66 Alsina St.: Opening of photographic exhibition: “Areco, hands which made tradition” by Jesús Celestino
Monday 1st, November 2010
4:30 p.m. At "Guida O'Donnell" Patio: Folk Music Concert by Federico Callejas of Las Lilas de Areco Museum.
7:45 p.m. At A.R.P.A., 291 Moreno St.: Opening of exhibition “Tres mujeres pintoras”.
Wednesday 3rd, November
11 a.m. and 13 p.m. At Parque Criollo: Exhibition and lectures on uses and customs.
8 p.m. At Parque Criollo: Reopening of the “pulpería La Blanqueada”
Thursday 4th, November
11 a.m. and 13 pm. At Parque Criollo: Exhibition and lectures on uses and customs.
8 p.m. At Guerrico Hall: Launch of Argentinian Post Office's stamp about "Tradition Festival of San Antonio de Areco".
9 p.m. At Guerrico Hall: Opening of 37th Week of “Arequera” Crafts
Friday 5th, November
11 a.m. and 13 p.m. At Parque Criollo: Exhibition and lectures on uses and customs.
8:30 p.m. At patio of the “pulpería La Blanqueada”: We start a campfire of Tradition Festival with traditional music (folklore), dances and bar service.
8:30 p.m. At patio of the “pulpería La Blanqueada”. We will light the Tradition campfire with music and dances. Bar service.
Saturday 6th, November (*)
10 am. Reception of gauchos and “tropillas” (group of horses) at Parque Criollo.
2 p.m. At Parque Criollo: Criollo Skills (with horses).
3:30 p.m. At Parque Criollo: Jura and “entrevero of tropillas”.Horse-riding and games such as “Carrera de Sortijas and Cuadreras”
7 p.m. At Las Lilas Museum, 279 Moreno St. Opening of exhibition: "Pasión por el arte y las costumbres gauchescas" by Rodolfo Ramos.
9 p.m. At patio of the “pulpería La Blanqueada”: Great Traditional Campfire. Traditional music, dances with gauchos. Bar service. Ticket: $AR 15.-
(*) If the weather is stormy, this activity will be held on Saturday 14th.
Sunday 7th, November (*)
9 a.m. At City hall: Reception of authorities and guests.
9:30 a.m. Guerrico Hall. Visit to 37th Exhibition of “Arequera” Crafts
10 a.m. At Ruiz de Arellano square. Thanksgiving mass.
10 a.m. At Parque Criollo. Meeting of gauchos and “tropillas” to do the tradition parade.
10:45 a.m. At Ruiz de Arellano square. Traditional music and dances in front of the official box.
11 a.m. At Ruiz de Arellano square. Starting the parade of gauchos and tropillas through the streets of the town, they are going to return to Parque Criollo.
1 p.m. At Parque Criollo. Great barbecue in the 71st Tradition Festival - Bar service. Musicians and traditional dancers. This activity will not stop if the weather is stormy.
2 p.m. At Parque Criollo. Gaucho skills, “entrevero of tropillas”, Horse-riding skills and “pialada”.
8:30 p.m. At Parque Criollo.Awards ceremony.
(*) If the weather is stormy, this activity will be held on Sunday 15th.
Monday 8th, November 2010
4:30 p.m. At "Guida O'Donnell" Patio: Folk Music Concert by Federico Callejas of Las Lilas de Areco Museum.
Wednesday 10th, November
10 a.m. At Monolito de José Hernández: Tradition Day: Memorial ceremony with gauchos.
12 noon. At patio of the “pulpería La Blanqueada”: Meeting of gauchos and Campfire. Closure of 71th Tradition Festival
